The Iraqi Red Crescent Society (IRCS) has provided medical, relief and food assistance to more than 485,000 displaced people in the camps and the liberated areas since the beginning of the right side operations of Mosul city on 21 Feb to 23 May 2017 till now.
”The IRCS teams who are deployed in the areas of displacement and the liberated areas have distributed medical, relief and food assistance to more than 485,000 displaced after more than 90 days on the start of the right side operations of Mosul till now”, said Mr. Mohammed Al-Khuzai the Under Secretary General in the IRCS.
Al-Khuzia has noted that the IRCS's relief teams who are deployed in the camps of (Hasan sham, Khazar, Jama kour, Jada, Hamam Al-Alil, Haj Ali, left of Mosul camp and Nirgizliya (2) camp) and the liberated areas have distributed more than 600,000 hot food meal and 55,799 food parcel enough for nine members for a month, adding to distribute more than five million a loaf of bread which is considered as a basic food material for the displaced people that is prepared by the IRCSs electrical bakeries, also the relief teams have installed water stations (M40) with a capacity of 600,000 liters in the camps of displacement by the IRCS in collaboration with its partners in the International Movement of Red Cross and Red Crescent.
Whereas the IRCS`s health teams have installed mobile clinics and health centers in the camps of displacement and the liberated areas in order to provide first aid, psychosocial support and medical treatments for the displaced families, the number of beneficiaries from these services has reached more than 400,000 people.
The IRCS teams are still continuing to distribute medical, relief and food materials for the displaced families till now and they are making extraordinary efforts in their humanitarian work in collaboration with the partners in the International Movement of Red Cross and Red Crescent.
