70% of new Congolese refugees return home

70% of the 4, 000 Congolese refugees that crossed into the country on February 28, have returned home.

Uganda Red Cross Society Assistant Director Emergency Preparedness and Response Kevin Busiima says URCS in Kisoro working with UNHCR has registered 1, 106 of the new refugees. These accepted to join Nyakabande Transit Camp in Kisoro.

The camp was set up by Office of Prime Minister to temporarily host Congolese refugees before they are re-settled in a settlement. Busiima says Nyakabande camp currently has 4, 058
