WASHINGTON, 3 mai 2016 – Les administrateurs de la Banque mondiale ont approuvé aujourd’hui un financement d’un montant total de 127 millions de dollars pour accroître le recours aux services de santé et améliorer la qualité de ces services au Cameroun, en particulier les services de santé de la procréation, de la mère, du nouveau-né, de l’enfant et de l’adolescent et les services de nutrition.

  • 18 million people remain affected by the food and nutrition crisis in West Africa’s Sahel region due to a combination of drought, poor accessibility to food, high grain prices, environmental degradation and displacement due to conflict. The effects of the drought continue to impact the following number of people per country:

Burkina Faso 2.06 million

Chad 3.6 million

Mali 4.2 million

Mauritania 700,000

Niger 6.4 million

Nigeria 100,000

Senegal 739,000
