Prepared by OCHA for the HC/RC Syria and the D/RHC, on behalf of humanitarian partners operating in Syria
The two-months Joint Operational Plans for the Whole of Syria has led to:
Improved information sharing and operational coordination between all actors, paving the way for a more coherent response in 2015.
Reduction in overlap, identification of areas of complementarity between cross-border, cross-line and regular operations, leading to immediate efficiency gains and better coverage of affected people.
The humanitarian situation in Syria is still affected by two major disasters both manmade disaster (Refugees from Iraq) and natural disaster (The worst drought that hit Syria since four decades).
UNHCR continued its assistance operation for refugees from Iraq in cooperation with partner agencies in the sectors of food, education, health, psycho-social support and protection. Distribution of food and non-food items supplied by UNHCR and WFP for 175,000 refugeesended in November.
