In order to help alleviate the pressing needs of the friendly and brotherly people of Yemen, Turkey, in addition to its emergency assistance in 2015 and 2016, and its pledge of 1 million USD announced in April 2017 at the “High Level Pledging Event for the Humanitarian Crisis in Yemen”, has sent to Yemen a vessel containing 10.560 tons of humanitarian assistance.

Later today, the agency will deliver four tons of medical supplies to refugee camps in the Obock area.

As of today, there are 200.091 Syrian citizens staying at the 14 Tent Cities, 1 Temporary Admission Centre and 5 Container Cities established by Prime Ministry AFAD for those coming from Syria.

The daily humanitarian needs and health services of nearly 290 thousands Syrian citizens, who live outside the camps in various provinces of Turkey, have being provided with the coordination of AFAD.

AFAD has erected a total of 14 tent-cities, with 5 in Hatay, 2 in Şanlıurfa, 3 in Gaziantep, and 1 each in Kahramanmaraş, Osmaniye, Adıyaman and Adana along with 3 container-cities with 1each in Kilis, Şanlıurfa and Gaziantep.

Due to interior conflicts occured in Syria on April 2011, more than 120.000 Syrian Citizens have crossed the border till today and all kind of humanitarian aid supplies have been provided by Prime Ministry AFAD in camps for more than a year.
