- Cholera transmission reported in two counties [Juba and Budi] in the last four weeks [43- 46, 2017].
- Out of the 26 samples tested in the week, 16 (62%) were positive by culture. All positive samples were from New Bongo (a new focus of transmission in Juba) (Table 4).

Completeness for IDSR reporting at county level was 61%. Completeness for EWARS reporting from IDP sites was 78%.

A total of 20 alerts were reported, of which 70% have been verified. 1 alert was risk assessed and 1 required a response.

Response

A total of 66 new cholera cases and 0 deaths (CFR 0.0%) were reported. The cumulative total since the start of the current outbreak on 18 June 2016 is 21,520 cases and 441 deaths (CFR 2.0%).

Epidemic Trends
- Cholera transmission reported in two counties [Juba and Budi] in the last four weeks [42- 45, 2017].
- Two samples from Bentiu PoC tested negative for cholera by culture (table 2).
- During the last four weeks, cholera cases have been reported from Juba and Budi. The cholera trend in the two counties is on the decline (Table 1). During the same period, four deaths were reported from Budi (2) and Juba (2) (Table 1).

Epidemic Trends
- Cholera transmission reported in three counties [Juba, Budi, and Kapoeta East] in the last four weeks [41-44, 2017].
- No new confirmed case in the week though samples were delivered from Budi during the week and testing is underway (table 2).
- No new suspect cholera cases reported from Wangkei, Mayom.
- During the last four weeks, Juba and Budi have reported the highest number of cholera cases (Table 1). During the same period, four deaths were reported from Budi (2) and Juba (2) (Table 1).

- Cholera transmission reported in three counties [Juba, Budi, and Kapoeta East] in the last four weeks [40 -43, 2017].
- Two cholera cases were confirmed from Napotpot, Kapoeta East after more than two incubation periods without cases. Oral cholera vaccination was conducted in the county and there is currently no evidence of active transmission.
