One year after the events of Mosul ended in July 2017, the Iraqi Red Crescent teams continue to provide humanitarian assistance to the residents inside the city or to the displaced who face some challenges to return to their homes after their homes have been damaged.
The city of Mosul, Iraq’s second-largest city in terms of population density, is facing the danger of deterioration of the health situation, which has threatened the lives of thousands of people because most of the health centers are out of service and as a result of damage to the infrastructure of the city and the deterioration of services which have provided to the families who have returned to their areas, especially on the health side, this makes the Iraqi community exposed to various diseases.
The teams of the Iraqi Red Crescent Society ( IRCS) has continued to provide its first aid and health services for the visitors who are heading toward the city of Kadhimeya for the visit of Imam Kadhim (peace be upon him ).
The IRCS's teams have provided first aid and health services through the permanent and mobile health teams that are deployed inside and outside Baghdad, adding to spread health and guidance awareness for the visitors.
The Iraqi Red Crescent Society (IRCS) has announced that its health teams have provided medical and therapeutic services for more than 200 patient every day for the people of the right side of Mosul city.
The IRCS has reported in a statement” The IRCS has formed mobile medical clinics from the specialized staff of the IRCS and equipped it with medical services in order to provide therapeutic services for the medical cases that have been received at the medical clinics”.
The Iraqi Red Crescent Society (IRCS) has provided health items for more than 4400 displaced families in the camps of displacement and at the neighborhoods of Salahuddin.
The IRCS has reported in a statement that the teams of the IRCS within Salahuldin center have equipped health items to more than 1560 displaced families at the camps of Alalam, camp number 1, 2 and 3, the health items include (detergents, baby towels, disinfectants and bandages for burns and wounds) which covers all the families in the camps.
The Iraqi Red Crescent Society(IRCS) has distributed food and relief assistance to more than 370 displaced families from the areas of Umm al – Jarabie and AlHadar island, as well as the families who have returned from (the Hool) camp which is located on the Syrian border to Hamam Alalil camp.
The IRCS has reported in a statement that the IRCS`s teams have distributed 375 food parcels and relief items, adding to distribute more than 2200 blankets for the displaced families who were received in Hamam Alalil camp within Salahuldin center.
Since the beginning of the liberation operations of the west island on 23 November 2017 and starting from the sector of Nineveh and Salahuddin liberation operations west of Senjar district, the teams of the Iraqi Red Crescent Society (IRCS) has continued to receive the displaced families from various areas of the west island which is located on the Syrian border.
The number of the dead people has increased because of the earthquake that hit Iraq to more than 10 people after the death of one injured person from Khanaqin area, as well as more than 430 injured, during the last two days the teams of the Iraqi Red Crescent Society (IRCS) have conducted field assessment in order to know the human loses left by the earthquake, until now the number of the affected families have reached 200 families were deployed in the villages of Darbandikhan and Halabja in the governorate of Sulaymaniyah in northern Iraq, in addition to a number of government buildings …
The Iraqi Red Crescent Society(IRCS) has announced that its relief teams have entered the liberated areas in Hawejah district and distributed more than 880 food parcels for the families who have remained in their areas. ”
The relief teams of the IRCS have been managed to enter the liberated areas in Hawejah district and distributed more than 880 food parcels for the families who are living in the areas of ( AlAsriyah, AlJafaariyah and basin 13 at Zab area of Hawejah district. ”, Said Mr. Haider Qassim the relief official of the IRCS in Salahadin center.
The Iraqi Red Crescent Society (IRCS) has distributed food assistance to more than 1200 families, who have been displaced from Hawija cities and the left side of Al-shirqat.
IRCS has said,” IRCS teams in Saladin has distributed (1250) food parcels for displaced families in Al-Alam 1 and 2 camps in Sebat area.”
The Iraqi Red Crescent Society(IRCS) has provided medical services and treatments for 298 displaced families on the right side of Mosul and other areas.
The Iraqi Red Crescent Society(IRCS) has announced the increase in the numbers of displaced families to more than 500 families from different areas of Hawejah and Shirqat districts and they have been received at Haj Ali camp after providing safe passages for them.
“The IRCS’s teams at Haj Ali camp have received more than 500 families from different areas of Hawejah and Shirqat”. Said Mr.Haider Qassim the relief official of Salah Aldeen center.
The Iraqi Red Crescent Society (IRCS) has announced the displacement of more than 350 families from different areas of Hawejah district, and they have been received at Haj Ali camp. “The IRCS's relief teams have received during the past two days more than 378 displaced families from different areas of Hawjah and Sherqat district" said Mr. Haider Qassim, the official of the IRCS's relief teams.
The Iraqi Red Crescent Society (IRCS) has announced distributing relief items to more than 780 displaced families in Hajj Ali camp in Saladin governorate.
“IRCS teams have provided 780 displaced families with a health kit, kitchen kit, and different housewares, adding to distribute them with more than 4600 blankets,” Haider Qasim, Relief Official of Saladin has said.
The Iraqi Red Crescent Society(IRCS) has announced the increase in the numbers of displaced families to more than 2400 family from different areas of Tal Afar district.
“The IRCS relief teams have received more than 2400 displaced families from Tal Afar district and the areas of (Mahalabiya, Baumaria, Ayyaziyah, Mazarie and Kisk) in the reception center of Hamam Al-Alil and the Salameya center, and they were deployed to the camps of Nimrud and Salamiyah in the right and left side of Mosul city”. said Mr. Haider Qassim the relief official .
Since the liberation of Nineveh governorate on 17/10/2016, a large number of families have been displaced from the areas of military operations to the safe areas. The families have been divided in two directions. One of them has been displaced to the camps. The number of them is 96545 families or 566849 persons. The rest of the families remained in their areas and they are (74429) families, or (469273) persons.
The Iraqi Red Crescent Society(IRCS) has distributed more than 2000 food parcels for the families who are living in the liberated neighborhoods of the right coast of Mosul city.
The IRCS has reported in a statement "The IRCS teams have entered the neighborhoods of( Zangali, Al-Thawrah and Al-seha ) which are located on the right side of Mosul city, and more than 2000 food parcels and 48,000 bottles of water have been distributed to the families who are living in the above-mentioned neighborhoods".
The Iraqi Red Crescent Society(IRCS) have released a number of recommendations to the management of the camps as a result of Hasan Sham events. The IRCS has reported in a statement ”The camps administration must ensure the identity of the organizations which are working with the displaced inside the camps, and not to distribute any food or cooked materials before being examined by the health departments, and make sure that there are health permits for restaurants that equip the organizations with food materials”.
The Iraqi Red Crescent Society (IRCS) has provided medical, relief and food assistance to more than 485,000 displaced people in the camps and the liberated areas since the beginning of the right side operations of Mosul city on 21 Feb to 23 May 2017 till now.
”The IRCS teams who are deployed in the areas of displacement and the liberated areas have distributed medical, relief and food assistance to more than 485,000 displaced after more than 90 days on the start of the right side operations of Mosul till now”, said Mr. Mohammed Al-Khuzai the Under Secretary General in the IRCS.
The Iraqi Red Crescent Society(IRCS) has distributed more than 15,000 hot food meal for the camps and the reception centers of the displaced in the western center of Salah Aldeen governorate.
