New PS Centre material: Psychosocial Support in Flooding

Then, amidst all the chaos, filth and uncertainty, we had a sanctuary. It was a place to be and for the neighbours to come together.”

So tells a Danish man whose community was completely flooded after a levee broke during a storm.

The Danish Red Cross (DRC) in collaboration with the Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC), the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent (IFRC) Societies, and the German Red Cross (GRC) received a grant of Euro 6 million from the European Commission Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection Department (ECHO) to continue the provision of Emergency Health, Relief and Response capacity building in support of the population affected by the Syrian Crisis between 1st May 2016 and 30th April 2017. The involved partners will top up the grant with Euro 315,790 from their own funds.

Copenhagen, 0106 2015.The Danish Red Cross (DRC) together with the consortium partners, International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), German Red Cross (GRC) and Norwegian Red Cross (NRCS) have successfully completed a comprehensive project to provide emergency health care, relief and logistical support for the humanitarian operation in Syria, supported by the European Commission Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection Department (ECHO).

The Danish Red Cross (DRC) together with its consortium partners, the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), the German Red Cross (GRC) and the Norwegian Red Cross (NorCross) have been granted financial support of four million Euros from the European Commission Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection Department (ECHO).
