In the nearly 9 months following the beginning of military operations to retake the city of Mosul, 933,000 individuals have been displaced. On the 9th of July, the military campaign to retake Mosul was officially declared ended. 224,000 people were able to return home once the neighbourhood they were living in was retaken. Nevertheless, 709,000 Mosul residents remain displaced in the Mosul corridor in Ninewa governorate. Approximately 53% of the displaced live with host communities, while the remaining individuals live across 19 camps and emergency sites.

The People In Need Foundation, the Czech Republic based NGO, is in progress of completing the reconstruction of the central medical warehouse used to store all medical equipment, supplies and drugs for Missan governorate; Iraq's Lower South. Reconstruction works on four buildings in the compound will include securing all engineering networks. Water-proofing of the roof is provided in order to secure environment for sensitive medical supplies. PINF sees this as logical step in rehabilitation of the most damaged and neglected health facilities in one of the poorest Iraqi governorates.

The People In Need Foundation, the Czech Republic based NGO has proceeded with reconstruction of the first five Public Health Centers in the southern Iraqi province, Missan. The centers played a very important role in Iraqi health care and most citizens relied on their services. This is the first phase of the project that includes rehabilitation of 20 clinics in different parts of the province based on the needs and resulting from a careful assessment carried out by PINF in cooperation with the local Department of Health.
