Her husband, Aman Gebrehiwot, is usually already there. Because the trip from home is so exhausting, he sleeps on site most nights to save his energy for mining.

Pact, USAID and Chevron/Unocal recently signed a landmark Public Private Partnership (PPP) agreement that acknowledges the shared commitment of the signing partners to support integrated health and livelihoods programming in Myanmar. The agreement launches the second phase of the $3 million, three-year Chevron/Unocal-funded Sustainable Health Improvement and Empowerment (SHINE) project, which includes activities that overlap and are co-funded by the USAID-funded Shae Thot project. This unique partnership leverages a multi-project infrastructure to achieve greater impact.
