Khartoum, Jan.13 (SUNA) - The Wali (governor) of the Blue Nile State, Hussein Yassin Hammad has put the number of the Sudanese displaced, in Ethiopia to 55,000 , adding that 13,000 out of them have returned to the country and hosted by the state's government .
Kosti, May 3 (SUNA) - Federal Minister of Health, Dr. Bahr Idriss Abu-Garda has affirmed the decrease of watery diarrhea cases in the White Nile State.
The minister who inspected, Wednesday, the disease affected-areas, accompanied by the Wali (governor) of the State and a number of federal and state's senior health official, told SUNA that the situation is under full control via interventions for chlorination of water, revealing that two cases were detected in Um-Jar and twenty other infections at Al-Konoze area.
Khartoum, Aug.7(SUNA)-Federal Health Minister, Bahar Iddris Abu Garda discussed with delegation of experts and consultants of the World Health Organization(WHO) and in presence of WHO Representative in Sudan, Dr Naema Al-Qaseer the ongoing arrangements for declared Sudan free of Guinea Worm Disease(GWD).
The WHO delegation commended Sudan efforts on eradication of GWD and called other countries to make use of Sudan's experience in this connection.

Khartoum, 16 Nov (SUNA) - The State Minister for Health, Dr Sumaia Akad, has affirmed that the type of fever reported in Darfur's five states is the dengue fever, with 381 cases reported up to the 13th of November.
The minister told the national assembly on Monday that the reported fatalities stand at 118 cases. She said the international mortality rate for this type of fever stands at 1 percent.

Khartoum, 18 August (SUNA) - The Technical committee set to monitor the cholera situation and to take measure on its entering the country listened to reports on measures undertaken to prevent the disease from entering the country from South Sudan.
The meeting held at the ministry of health reviewed the measures taken at the crossing points and borders areas to control any leakage of cases into the country and on measures to be taken by the various states to the same effect.
Singa, July.22 (SUNA) - Minister of Health of Sinnar state, DR. Mohammed Abdulgader Al-Mamoun has announced that his ministry has taken the necessary measure to prevent the spread of cholera , in the state from the State of South Sudan, by establishing quarantine in Daly and Al-Mazmoum locality which neighboring South Sudan.
The Minister stressed that all the newcomers from the State of South Sudan will undergo medical check ups before entering the state to avoid the spread of the disease in the state.

Khartoum, 28 April (SUNA) - A 40 million dollar agreement was signed in Khartoum between the African Development Bank and the government of Sudan, to be used for funding health service projects in the White Nile and North Kordufan states.
The Minister for Finance and National Economy, Badr Eddin Mahmoud, signed for the Sudan while the Regional Director of the bank for East and Central African Region, Gabriel Migatou signed for his bank.

Gaza Aug 28th (SUNA) – The Second Sudanese Medical Delegation chaired by the Consultant of Heart and Arteries and the Dean of Scientific Research Faculty in University of AL-Nelien, included medical doctors and representatives from the Sudanese Red Crescent, arrived Wednesday in Gaza.
In a statement to SUNA an official source at the Sudanese Red Crescent said that the Sudanese Delegation is the first delegation entered Gaza Strip after war ended and ceasefire agreement signed, and that the delegation will provide services to the wounded in different Gaza Strip Hospitals.

Cairo, July 27 (SUNA) The delegation of the Sudanese Red Crescent including 12 doctors and surgeons led by dr. Mohamed Saeed al-Khalifa the cardiology consultant and the chancellor of Al-Azhari University has arrived Cairo on its way Gaza Strip.
The head of the delegation indicated in statement to SUNA that the movement of the delegation is a response to the Palestinian Red Crescent in Ram Allah, noting that the delegation has conducted a number of surgery operations during the first and second Israeli aggression on Gaza.
Khartoum, July 30 (SUNA)- Three Qatari planes carrying relief materials to flood victims in Sudan, arrived to Khartoum Wednesday, in implementation of the directives of the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
Another shipment of relief material will arrive to Khartoum on Thursday within the context of the same Qatari humanitarian relief assistance to flood victims in Sudan.

January 20, 2012 (JUBA) - The United Nations (UN) has expressed serious concerns over the plight of more than 120,000 people, mainly women and children believed to have been displaced by ethnic violence in South Sudan’s largest state of Jonglei.
Lise Grande, the UN humanitarian coordinator for South Sudan on Friday described the situation as “very serious” saying those affected by the cycle of violence in the region urgently require humanitarian assistance.
“I can tell you the violence in Jonglei hasn’t yet stopped,” she said.

Khartoum, April 21 (SUNA) - The 4th meeting of the joint cooperation Committee between the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) at one side and the three States of Darfur, Blue Nile State and South Kordufan State Thursday continued its deliberations over four specialized sectors, including Health, water, vocational training and training in reproductive health. The main objective of the meeting was to assess the progress of these projects in the five States as agreed on last April 2010.
