Islamabad 12 January 2018: National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) signed Annual Work Plan with the UNFPA- Pakistan, with NDMA on January 12th, 2018 to envisage cooperation between the two organizations for Gender Mainstreaming, specifically in humanitarian crises to cater the needs and concerns of vulnerable groups in the entire DRM spectrum. The work plan is part of the Multi-Year Agreement (2018-22) signed between the two organizations in December 2017 to address issues of GBV and protection of women during pre and post disasters.

Trinidad, 16 ene (ABI).- El responsable del Programa Nacional de Atención y Control de Desastres del Ministerio de Salud, Rodrigo Cordero, entregó el martes un lote de medicamentos con una inversión de 31.500 bolivianos, para atender las enfermedades provocadas por las inundaciones registradas en el departamento del Beni.

"Son medicamentos para lo que generalmente se presenta en una inundación, infecciones en la piel, heridas, resfríos, diarreas por la contaminación del agua", informó a los periodistas.

January 16th, 2018 ― Doha: In response to Typhoon Vinta, which hit Mindanao, southern Philippines, Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) has issued a humanitarian appeal to raise $ 2 million (QR 7.3 million) for a 12-month relief programme. The plan is estimated to benefit as many as 13,380 families (or 66,900 people).

A team of QRCS's mission in the Philippines visited the displaced shelter centers and host communities to examine living standards there and evaluate the urgent needs. Some 20-liter water jerry cans were also distributed.
