  1. Rivers Flow Situation Reported by Flood Forecasting Division. River Kabul at Nowshera is in Low Flood level. All the other major Rivers are in the state of their normal flows. Low to medium flood is expected in River Chenab and Jhelum along with Nullahs of Rivers Ravi and Chenab. Details at Annex A.

In March:

One new case of wild poliovirus (WPV1) was detected.
4 million children were vaccinated against poliovirus by a team of almost 260 000 dedicated frontline workers.
Teams at transit points and borders successfully vaccinated 1.6 million children.

Sub-national immunisation campaign underway to protect children from the crippling disease

Islamabad, 7 May 2018 – Starting today the country will embark on a polio vaccination campaign that aims to reach 23.8 million children aged 5 years. Some 161,000 frontline workers will be going “door-to-door” over the next five days to reach every child with two doses of the safe and effective vaccine, according to the National Emergency Operations Centre (NEOC) for Polio Eradication.

Islamabad, April 24, 2018: Federal Minister for National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination (MoNHSRC), Mrs. Saira Afzal Tarar has urged parents in Pakistan to observe the World Immunization Week this year by ensuring that every child in their household and community is vaccinated against vaccine preventable diseases. She vowed that the government is committed in saving lives of vulnerable children by ensuring smooth supply of vaccines against these 10 vaccine preventable diseases across the country.
