Tarija, 23 nov (ABI).- El alcalde del municipio de Entre Ríos de la provincia O'connor, Nicolás Herrera, advirtió el jueves que en su jurisdicción más de 20.000 cabezas de ganado están en riesgo por la aguda sequía que azota a esa región del departamento de Tarija.
"Más de 20.000 cabezas de ganado están en riesgo, están en levantamiento de datos, pero con seguridad son más de 20.000 cabezas de ganado en riesgo", informó a los periodistas.

The second half of 2017 was marked by several significant events in the northern part of Iraq. On 20 July 2017, the Iraqi Government Forces took full control over the city of Mosul and during the few months over 300 000 people decided to return to the city, while more than 900 000 still remain scattered thought IDP camps and in off-camp locations throughout northern Iraq, in particular in Erbil and Dohuk. In the second half of August, the Tal Afar region was also retaken by the Iraqi Government Forces, as a result of which an additional 40 000 people were displaced.
PAH aims to support refugees and vulnerable community members who cannot receive aid from other I/NGOs or government bodies. By distributing cash to 200 course attendees, PAH will contribute to making sure that these 200 vulnerable refugees and local community members will have access to quality training courses and materials for the same. This assistance will reduce the number of dropouts from training courses provided by Public Education Centre (PEC). In addition, it will help them find jobs by removing the barriers such as lack of language or professional skills.

AL HALLABAT, Jordan, 23rd November, 2017 (WAM) -- Hamad Juma Al Nuaimi, Deputy Director of Jordanian-Emirati refugee camp in Mrajeeb Al Fhood, has supervised the distribution of winter supplies to a number of Syrian refugee families living in 'random' tents in Jordan.
"Today, we visited our brothers, the Syrian refugees, who are living in random tents in Al Halabat area, where they live in small gatherings and face difficult conditions because of extreme and cold weather, and we distributed winter supplies including blankets and mattresses," he said.
ERBIL, Iraq – In the aftermath of the powerful earthquake that struck the Iraq-Iran border on 12 November, UNFPA has scaled up its emergency response to meet the needs of women and girls.
The 7.3 magnitude earthquake struck the border region between Iraq and the Islamic Republic of Iran, 30 km southwest of Halabja in Iraq. According to an interagency assessment mission to Sulaymaniyah, the earthquake left eight people dead and more than 500 injured. Hundreds of families were displaced.
On 17 November 2017, UNMIL supported the Ministry of Justice and the Liberia Law Enforcement Association to convene a dialogue on the role of security sector institutions in promoting a peaceful, democratic and transparent election at the Bassa Women's Association in Buchanan. One hundred participants represented government agencies, security and justice sector institutions, civil society organizations, women, youth and traditional groups and UNMIL.
