HCM CITY — Unseasonable weather in southwestern provinces during the dry season has led to an increase in cases of diarrhoea, dengue fever, and hand, foot and mouth disease, all of which usually occur during the rainy season, according to health experts.

The Cần Thơ Pediatric Hospital in Cần Thơ City has recorded about 12,400 cases of diarrhoea, 500 cases of dengue fever, and 2,400 cases of hand, foot and mouth disease.

MANILA, 26 APRIL - The World Health Organization (WHO) Regional Office for the Western Pacific has released a new report with scientific evidence of climate change affecting health and recommended actions for countries in the Region.

Therefore, the Government and local authorities do their efforts to deploy many measures and programs to control and prevent diseases are working to implement a number of measures, many programs to control and prevent the disease, raising awareness of people and protecting public health.

HANOI, 7 August 2015 (IRIN) - Toxic sludge that spilled out of open pit coal mines during 10 days of heavy rains may have seriously contaminated farmland, rivers and coastal areas in northern Vietnam.

Flooding has killed 30 people, wiped out roads and damaged thousands of homes, the United Nations said in a situation report on Wednesday. The UN also warned of potential risks to the environment, health and water sanitation after coal mines in Quang Ninh province flooded, spilling thick streams of dark sludge into the countryside.

U.S.A. - Severe weather
• Severe weather, including thunderstorms, strong winds, heavy rain, hail and tornadoes affected several areas of Midwest and Mid-Atlantic United States on 21-23 June. Several tornadoes were reported in the states of Illinois, Iowa, Kansas and Michigan on 22 June.
• According to media (as of 23 June), seven people were injured and several damages occurred, mostly in the area of Coal City in northern Illinois.
