210 agencies participated in the September 2016 3W, providing information on their activities in 22 sectors and 154 sub-sectors which have been defined by technical/sector working groups. Currently the 3W reporting is quite comprehensive for projects of INGO, UN and Red Cross agencies, but there is still likely to be under-reporting of the specific activities of field-based local NGOs and CBOs.

The April’15 3W provides a snapshot of active project implementation as of March 25th, 2015 in villages and IDP camps across Myanmar as reported by implementing agencies. Information on planned and recently completed projects can be found in the 3W Data, available as an Excel file, and are also reflected on the 3W Dashboard.

Executive Summary

Situated in the hilly eastern part of Myanmar, Kayah State borders Thailand to the east, Shan State to the north, and Kayin State to the southwest. Kayah is a small but complex state, rich in natural resources, cultural heritage and natural beauty. But Kayah has also been in a state of conflict for more than 60 years, and over the years, the cost of the conflict has been extensive—impacting directly and indirectly, the lives and the livelihoods of most of the people in Kayah, and many thousands who have fled.

27 February 2013, Shan State – New study of gender issues in Shan State concludes that inequality gap between women and men will not narrow unless women are provided with more leadership opportunities in community driven development. The study, organized by UNDP to analyse living status of women and men in Inle Lake area in Shan State, also calls for more training for women to help strengthen their leadership skills.
