Le présent rapport a été établi en application de la résolution 46/182 de l’Assemblée générale, dans laquelle l’Assemblée a prié le Secrétaire général de lui faire rapport chaque année, ainsi qu’au Conseil économique et social, sur la question de la coordination de l’aide humanitaire d’urgence. Il fait également suite à la résolution 72/133 de l’Assemblée et à la résolution 2017/14 du Conseil. Le présent rapport porte sur la période allant du 1er janvier au 31 décembre 2017.
The present report has been prepared pursuant to General Assembly resolution 46/182, in which the Assembly requested the Secretary-General to report annually to the Assembly and the Economic and Social Council on the coordination of emergency humanitarian assistance. The report is also submitted in response to Assembly resolution 72/133 and Economic and Social Council resolution 2017/14. The period covered by the report is 1 January to 31 December 2017.

Real world examples of technology and innovation being deployed to build a more resilient Africa in line with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development were presented to the Economic and Social Council today as it concluded its annual three‑day integration segment.
The present report is submitted pursuant to Economic and Social Council resolution 2016/28 and highlights the main findings of the Ad Hoc Advisory Group on Haiti following its visits to Washington, D.C., in March 2017, during which members met with the international financial institutions and regional actors, and to Haiti, in May 2017, during which members interacted with a number of senior government and legislative officials, representatives of the United Nations system and private sector and civil society actors.

Despite encouraging progress, the international community had yet to account for the millions of people who still wallowed in abject poverty and for whom the right to development remained but a dream, speakers said today as the ministerial segment of the High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development continued.

The report is also submitted in response to Assembly resolution 71/127 and Economic and Social Council resolution 2016/9. The period covered by the report is from January to December 2016.
The present report contains the main findings and recommendations of the Committee for Development Policy at its fourteenth session. The Committee addressed the following themes: productive capacity and employment; the international development strategy beyond 2015; the triennial review of the list of least developed countries (including monitoring of the development progress of Equatorial Guinea and Samoa); and strengthening the process of smooth transition of countries graduating from the category of least developed countries.
