A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cross border animal health coordination was signed between Kenya and Uganda on 24 April 2013, at Nakiloro, in Karamoja, Uganda. The signing of the MoU represented the culmination of over two years of engagement by ACTED (Agency for Technical Cooperation and Development) and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) with key local and national stakeholders in both Uganda and Kenya to support the development of a mechanism to enable cross-border coordination to prevent and respond to animal health disease outbreaks.
