A ship of Azerbaijan’s Emergency Situations Ministry carrying humanitarian aid has sailed to Tajikistan, which was hit by a quake. The aid was sent under instructions of President Ilham Aliyev.
The Azerbaijani Emergency Situations Ministry has sent a humanitarian aid to Kyrgyzstan in accordance with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev’s instructions.
The aid is sent in connection with a strong earthquake that hit Kyrgyzstan’s Osh Province.
The ceremony was attended by Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations Faig Tagizade and Kyrgyz Ambassador to Baku Ayjigit Buranov.
Twenty trucks will be forward to Aktau in Kazakhstan from Baku International Sea Trade Port on the ferry, after what it will be headed to Kyrgystan.

The increasing number of landslides in different parts of Baku and the Absheron Peninsula this October has raised fears among the population.
Construction work on the slopes of Baku and the Absheron Peninsula, the use of a watering yard, the outpouring of groundwater on the surface, and other factors are the cause of these landslides, which have been a problem in the past as well, Alemdar Piriyev, senior geologist at the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences told the local media.
The Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) defused 3,657,657 square meters of the country’s territory in October, ANAMA reported.
ANAMA detected and defused 83 unexploded ordnances (UXOs) in October.
Some 488 sappers, 112 assistants, six mechanical mine clearing machines and 36 mine-detection dogs are involved in mine clearing operations.
As much as 309,423,464 square metres of land have been cleared of mines so far and the number of defused landmines and UXOs amounted to 713,777.

After a magnitude 7.8 earthquake hit one of the poorest nations on Earth, Nepal, on April 25 the country’s many survivors find themselves in desperate need of food and water.
The devastating earthquake and its aftershock on April 26 killed more than 5,000 people in the country’s Kathmandu Valley. More than eight million people have been affected by the quake, the UN said. About 10,000 people have been injured.
Now, aid has begun to reach those regions near the epicenter as many countries around the world have mobilized.
