The following report includes information about the trip made to Shin Kalay, Nade Ali, Helmand, Afghanistan in August of 2004 by Dr. Mohammad Khan Kharoti, Yama Kharoti and Sultana Kharoti. The report also touches on progress since the trip and the future outlook of the GVS program.
After speaking with the holding company in Karachi, Pakistan, Mohammad Khan was able to secure the release papers for the two containers full of school supplies donated by a middle school that was shut down in Ohio.
In August of 2003, Mohammad Khan Kharoti, his daughter Sultana (26) and his son Yama (19) traveled to the GVS schools in Sheen Kallay, Afghanistan. Their mission was to help build four new classrooms for the girls' school and a perimeter wall. Sultana and Yama, who were returning to their homeland for the first time in seventeen years, also went to teach English and mathematics, respectively.
