The Logistics Cluster is responsible for providing logistics coordination, information management and, where there is a gap in logistics infrastructure, WFP, as lead-agency of the Logistics Cluster, acts as a ‘Provider of Last Resort’ by offering common logistics services to support the humanitarian community in their response operations.

2005 Progress Report
ATLAS LOGISTIQUE, French Non Governmental Organization, has been working in Aceh Province since January 2005, organizing logistic support for all humanitarian organizations, thanks to ECHO's funding.
We have progressively set-up a complete logistic network, implementing bases in Banda Aceh, Medan, Meulaboh, Calang, and Simeulue to facilitate transportation in Aceh Province, especially in areas directly affected by the tsunami but also areas where IDPs were located.

Atlas Logistique would like to answer to the article published in the IRIN press review of the 8th july 2005 : Atlas Logistique has not suspended all activities in the Camp Aero until the 31st august 2005 as mentioned.
Atlas Logistique, together with the humanitarian actors directly or indirectly involved in the issues of the IDP Camp Aero in Bunia, has been driving in the last few months a reflexion on the future of the camp and its inhabitants and has decided, together with its fundraiser, ECHO, as well as with above mentioned actors, to stop its activities in the aero camp at the end …
