UPDATE ON SITUATION IN NORTH SYRIA / AL-BAB /:
To assess the health situation in Ar-Raqqa (available health services, needs & requirements) and propose optimal response modalities and develop operational plan there, Al-Ameen Organization conducted health facilities assessment in Ar-Raqqa governorate during Mar-2018 assessing 91 Health facilities. All areas of Ar-Raqqa were assessed excluding Ma’adaan and Al Sabkha sub-districts which are under the control of the Syrian regime.
Six years of on-going conflict has had a significant negative effect on the Humanitarian sector in Syria. The Health and nutrition services are among some of the most affected sectors in the country. The most vulnerable population groups in Syria consist of mainly Children under 5 years and Pregnant and lactating women (PLW).
Deir Al-Zour is located in the eastern part of Syria on the Syrian-Iraqi border and is considered the capital of the eastern region.
The Euphrates River passes through it and divides it into two areas:
The western region is located west of the Euphrates River and extends towards the desert of Sham and is called the Shamia area.
