Gavi to make Parsyl’s quality assurance platform available in Uganda and Senegal to address last mile distribution challenge
ABU DHABI, 10 December 2018 – Vaccine supply chains in Uganda and Senegal will get a boost thanks to a new partnership between Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance and Parsyl Inc. The partnership, announced today at a high-level conference for Gavi’s 2018 mid-term review, will use Parsyl’s advanced supply chain data platform to support Senegal and Uganda to track and monitor cold chain conditions while vaccines are being distributed within countries.
BERLIN, 16 October 2018 - Eleven heads of the world’s leading health and development organizations today signed a landmark commitment to find new ways of working together to accelerate progress towards achieving the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.
Coordinated by the World Health Organization, the initiative unites the work of 11 organizations, with others set to join in the next phase.

Vaccination begins in the Democratic Republic of the Congo
Mbandaka, 21 May 2018 - The deployment of the Ebola vaccine to the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) could give a vital boost to efforts to contain the disease, Dr Seth Berkley, CEO of Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, said today during a visit to the country. Dr Berkley is visiting affected areas with the DRC Minister of Health Dr Oly Ilunga Kalenga, joining the vaccination teams as they begin their work.

26 OCTOBER 2017 | GENEVA/NEW YORK/ATLANTA - In 2016, an estimated 90 000 people died from measles - an 84% drop from more than 550 000 deaths in 2000 - according to a new report published today by leading health organizations. This marks the first time global measles deaths have fallen below 100 000 per year.
Ending Cholera—A Global Roadmap to 2030 operationalises the new global strategy for cholera control at the country level and provides a concrete path toward a world in which cholera is no longer a threat to public health. By implementing the strategy between now and 2030, the Global Task Force on Cholera Control (GTFCC) partners will support countries to reduce cholera deaths by 90 percent. With the commitment of cholera-affected countries, technical partners, and donors, as many as 20 countries could eliminate disease transmission by 2030.
Mass vaccination effort will target over 915,000 people to contain cholera outbreak in Borno state
