Tripoli –10 October 2018: The Health Information Center, Ministry of Health in partnership with World Health Organization (WHO), UNICEF and IOM started implementation of District Health Information System (DHIS2) by training the statistic staff at facility levels. The first end user training workshop was held in the premises of the Health Information Center, Tripoli. The workshop was attended by 20 data entry personnel’s representing 14 hospitals, 2 polyclinics, 2 kidney dialysis centers, one referral laboratory and one blood bank.

WHO Country Office for Libya and WHO Regional Office for Eastern Mediterranean in collaboration with MOH in Libya organized two days meeting to Develop National Strategy for Community Health workers (CHWs) in Libya. The objectives of meeting is to define the scope of Community Health Volunteers, identify necessary competencies for CHWs to perform their duties based on the local needs and context, identify modalities for capacity building of CHWs in line with scope of work and required tasks, agree on implementation strategy and road map.

On 28 July, 2018, The Health Information Department, Ministry of Health, with support from World Health Organization (WHO), UNICEF and IOM initiated an extensive task of introducing DHIS2 all over the country. After successful training of core team on admin functions of DHIS-2 held from 21-26 July 2018, a six days (28 July-2 August) training of trainers (ToT) workshop on the District Health Information System (DHIS2) is in progress both in Tripoli and Benghazi.

Great Jamahiriya's air bridge continued yesterday delivering humanitarian assistance provided by Libyan people to their besieged Palestinian brothers in the Gaza Strip and who are facing a collective extermination by forces of the Terrorist Zionist Army Organization.

The Libyan planes are carrying 20 tons of medicine, medical equipments, three fully equipped ambulances and a mobile operating room, provided by Gaddafi International Foundation for Charity and Development, General Union of Trade and Industry Chambers, and individuals.
