On August 3th,4:30pm, Ludian country, Zhaotong city, Yunnan province(N.27.1,E103.3) happened 6.5 magnitude earthquake ,the depth of origin is under 12 km of the earth. The core of earthquake is at Longtou town, which is at 23km away from Ludian country, by August 8th 7pm , the quake had caused 615 persons died, 114 persons disappeared, and 3143 persons were injured, 229.7 thousand persons are at emergency arrangement.
August 5th, Jinde‘s relief team arrived at the epicenter Longquan Village, Longtou Township at 14:00 pm after more than 3 hours of treking through the hills. The dead bodies covered by the plastic and injured people lying on the roadsides made their hearts became heavier and heavier.
The Livelihood Development Project in Ya’an disaster area put forwarded by Jinde Charities over the meeting of “Beautiful Village, Go Together with Charities”had got through evaluation of the project committee and got financial assistance from China Foundation of Poverty Alleviation. The project would be carried out in Dahe Village, Taiping Town, helping local people develop breeding industry in the form of professional cooperative of farmers.
On September 13, Jinde Charities distributed rice and flour to three hundred and ten families in Lulu Village, Meichuan Town, Min County under the coordination of volunteer Tan Ruixia. Each Family got a bag of rice and a bag of flour, worthing forty thousand Yuan in total.
On September 9,2013, Jinde Charities distributed supplies worthy of about seventy thousand Yuan to Fengwangxiang ,Qingshui County, Hongluo Village of Maiji District in Liugou Village, Hongbao Town and Shimen under the help from fathers, sisters and brethren in Tianshui Parish.

Working closely with our local partner in Tianshui Diocese, Jinde Charities has distributed nearly ￥50,000 worth of relief supplies to the families devastated by mudslide in Majiaba village, Niangniangba township, Qinzhou district, Tianshui City, Gansu Province.
On September 6, Jinde Charities and Lanzhou Jinchen Social Service Center distributed rice and flour to 284 families in Yongxing Village, a serious-hit area during the earthquake on July 22 in Minxian. Those supplies were contributed by love people in Beijing, wishing to help people in need through Jinde Charities.
On August 16, Jinde Charities distributed relief supplies worth about 50 thousand yuan to people suffering from the disaster in Majiaba Village of Niangniangba Town, Qinzhou District, Tianshui City under the assistant of clergies and brethen of Tianshui Parish.
On July 22, 2013, an earthquake of 6.6 magnitude took place in Minxian and Zhangxian in Gansu Province, during which Tianshui suffered as well due to the strong tremble. As a result, those old houses in the mountainous area became dangerous housing. Such bad condition was followed by torrential rain which had never been seen in the past 60 years in Tianshui and some other places, which led to landslides and mud-rock flow. As a result, villages and farmlands were destroyed and the transportation was blocked, and more than three hundred thousand people were homeless.Fr.
On June 8, 2013, Jinde relief team distributed the BabyBio organic milk powder in Chunguang Village, Taipingzhen.
This was a joint distribution carried out by Jinde Charities and China Foundation of Poverty Alleviation, sending love to children in disaster area. The distribution will cover Chunguang Village in Taipingzhen, Lushan County, Jianlian Village, Lingguanzhen, Baoxing County and Sanhe Village and Wanli Village, Huangmuzhen, Hanyuan County. The total value of the milk powder is more than 400,000 yuan.
Jinde relief office was offcially settled in Ya'an Center for Social Organizations and Volunteers on June 7. About one month after the earthquake, the local government set up an office center for organizations and voluntters who are doing good relief work in Lushan earthquake zone. The office center offers free rooms for those teams in order to help their relief work and it will be very convenient for those organizations and volunteers to share information.
On May 20, China Foundation of Poverty Alleviation and Jinde Charity went to Lingguanzhen of Baoxing County to distributed hygienic bags again since the relief supplies distribution on May 9. The bags will be distributed to 9 villages, about 3287 families, 11951 people will benefit from it. The head of the Linguanzhen told our colleagues, “ Thanks for your help after overcoming quite a lot of difficulties. You sent us relief supplies through the danger of landslides, now you came again to send us hygienic bags. Thanks so much for your considerate care.”
On May 9, 2013, the sixth batch of relief supplies has been distributed in Shangba Village, Lingguanzhen, Baoxing County by Jinde Charity. Linguanzhen is located between Lushan county and Baoxing County, about 10 kilometers away from the latter. It is separated from the outside world because of the geographical nature and frequent landslides along the way. It started raining on the evening of May 8 and did not stop at the time when the supplies arrived. The tracks carrying supplies were caught in landslide passing Tongtou canyon and were almost hit by the flying stones.
On April 30,2013, China Foundation of Poverty Alleviation and Jinde Charity have distributed relief supplies worthy of ￥900000 including 2000 bags of rice, 2000 barrels of oil and 2900 quilts. People at the settlement spots of Zhonglinsun of aipingzhen, Shuanghecun of Shuangshizheng, Guozhang Middle School of Lushan County got these supplies. This is the third batch of supplies that Jinde Charity has distributed since the relief work started.
On the morning of April 28, 2013, seven tracks carrying the second batch of relief supplies offered by Jinde Charity drove into Lushan disaster area, providing living supplies and food for people in Chunguangcun, Dahecun of Taipingzheng and Shuangshizhen. The second batch of supplies include 62 pieces of tents, 708 rolls of waterproof cloth, 600 beds, 1415 cotton quilts, 45 generators, 60 bags of electric torch, 435 bags of rice, 467 barrels of oil, 725 bags of salt, as well as 225 boxes of milk powder offered together with our partner China Foundation of Poverty Alleviation.
On April 26, Tianjin Foyuan Group contributed food worthy of 13400 yuan to Ya’an disaster area through Jinde Charity. Foyuan is a folk group organized by several Buddhists spontaneously, the member of which contributed more than 10000 yuan as soon as getting the news of Ya’an earthquake. Having knowing food is in badly need in those disaster areas, they bought 300 bags of instant noodles and 65 bags of rice with the contributions.
On April 24, the joint relief team made up by China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation, Jinde Charity and Leshan Parish, Catholic Church went to the seriously-hit area Taipingzhen and distributed over 80t (including 50t rice, 25t oil, 5t salt, 6t milk powder and medicines) relief supplies to 8576 people of 1950 families there. Every family has got 3 bags of rice, 2 barrel of oil, and 5 bags of salt. And the milk powder were distributed to them according to the age and need of every family.
Jinde Charities and Catholic Social Service Centre - Xi'an Qinghai Relief office distributed two months supply of sanitary napkins to over 2,300 women from May 6. Staff from the Qinghai Relief office, the Medical and Mental Health Station and 9 local volunteers distributed the relief items over several days. In order to target the most vulnerable populations, the distribution took place at over 10 locations in the affected area.
In Saima camp, the largest temporary community in the affected area, over 5,300 packets were distributed.

The powerful earthquake with a magnitude of 7.1 hit Yushu County in Qinghai Province at 7:49 am local time, killing at least 2183 people and injured 12,135.
