DOHA, Feb 8 (KUNA) -- Qatari Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani Thursday instructed that urgent aid worth 33 million Qatari riyals (US nine million) be provided to the Gaza Strip.
Qatari humanitarian aid includes medicine, medical and food supplies and fuel for hospital generators, Qatar News Agency (QNA) reported.
The Qatari humanitarian gesture comes in response to the hard humanitarian conditions in the enclave due to a sharp shortage of medicine and fuel triggered off by the Israeli blockade on the Palestinian territory.
KUWAIT, March 3 (KUNA) -- Living up to its UN-bestowed status as an International Humanitarian Center, Kuwait scaled up its response to the humanitarian emergencies in Syria and other parts of the world throughout the last week.
On Sunday, February 25, Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) delivered food aid to residents of Eastern Ghouta, to the east of the Syrian capital city of Damascus, in cooperation with Turkey's Humanitarian Relief Foundation (IHH).
The aid campaign is to continue for 15 days to provide food for some 126,700 Syrians trapped in the war-torn city.
RIYADH, Feb 26 (KUNA) -- Officials from Kuwait and Aden signed an agreement to transport water from Abyan to Aden to permanently address the water supply problem in the Yemeni port city.
The agreement, signed by Kuwait By Your Side Campaign and Public Authority for Water and Local Rule in Aden, aimed at fixing the water pipeline which transports water from Al-Ro'a well, in Abyan governorate, to Aden via the province of Lahj.
The campaign said in a statement the 58-kilometer-long pipeline is designed to transport 13,000-15,000 cubic meters of water every day.
KUWAIT, Feb 26 (KUNA) -- The State of Kuwait has begun delivering urgently needed aid to besieged civilians in East Ghouta on Damascus' outskirts.
Aid delivery started amid bombardment that proceeded a day after the United Nations Security Council adopted a resolution calling for a 30-day truce in Syria.
The vanguard Kuwaiti initiative will hopefully encourage international relief organizations to follow suit and implement the UNSC Resolution 2401, passed late on Saturday.

AMMAN, Feb 25 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's voluntary team "Shefaa" has offered due medical care to 660 Syrian patients, during an ongoing humanitarian trip at refugee camps in Jordan.
The team has also performed eight successful surgeries, one for a two-year-old boy, and the other for a senile, member Dr. Ali Al-Alanada told KUNA.
The current trip to Jordan is part of programs the team has carried out in a host of countries to provide medical and psychological assistance to afflicted people, he added.

KUWAIT, Feb 14 (KUNA) -- Kuwait Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah said Wednesday that total contributions by countries participating in Kuwait International Conference on Reconstruction of Iraq (KICRI) has reached USD 30 billion.
Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) delivered humanitarian aid to those affected by the earthquake in Halabja and Sulaiymaniah in Iraq's Kurdistan region on Monday.
Since the earthquake that struck northern Iraq on November 12, Kuwait has been closely monitoring the affected area and will continue to provide humanitarian aid to those in need, Kuwait Consul General in Irbil Omar Al-Kandari told KUNA.
Kuwait began delivering aid to northern Iraq last week, distributing thousands of food and health care baskets, he added.
NEW YORK, Nov 22 (KUNA) -- Kuwait announced that His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah ordered the donation of USD one million to be delivered to victims of Hurricanes Irma and Maria, which hit the Caribbean Sea region back in September.
This announcement was delivered by Kuwait's Permanent Delegate to the UN Headquarters in New York Ambassador Mansour Al-Otaibi to the donor's conference for the reconstruction states within the Caribbean Sea region.
KUWAIT, Nov 20 (KUNA) -- Kuwait Red Crescent (KRC), in cooperation with Iraqi Red Crescent (IRC), started Monday distributing humanitarian supplies to people in Iraq's Halabja and Sulaiymaniah governorates who suffered from a deadly earthquake recently.

AMMAN NOV 19. - The Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC) has announced that a humanitarian and relief aid convoy had entered Jeroud city in Damascus countryside.
In a statement, the SARC said that a 26-truck aid convoy arrived in the city Sunday.
It noted that the aid included 7,200 food packages, 300 baskets of vegetables, seeds and fertilizers, various relief items, medicines and medical supplies.

COXS BAZAR, Bangladesh, Oct 24 (KUNA) -- Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) and Turkey's Humanitarian Relief Foundation (IHH) continue distribution of urgent supplies for Rohingya Muslim refugees in Coxs Bazar, Bangladesh.
Since last Friday, KRCS distributed 1,000 carpets, 1,000 ponchos, 600 food parcels, 1,100 hygiene boxes and 500 parcels of clothes.
The Kuwaiti society also distributed kitchen ware and 1,000 meals.

IRBIL, Oct 12 (KUNA) -- Kuwait continued its humanitarian aid through adopting the treatment of 180 injured civilians from Mosul city, those with artificial limbs, in a private hospital in Irbil Thursday.
In a statement to KUNA, the Consul General of Kuwait, Dr. Omar Al-Kandari, said this is part of a medical projects carried out by Kuwait to help displaced Iraqis and those affected by the recent military operations, in support with the Kuwait Relief Society and the Kuwait Red Crescent.
ANKARA, Oct 9 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's Al-Salam Humanitarian and Charity Society inaugurated on Monday a factory for tailoring and handicraft works for Syrian women refugees in the town of Sanliurfa in Southeast Turkey.
The large building was established and equipped with donations amounting to USD 600,000 from citizens of Kuwait and other GCC countries, said the society general director and chairman, Dr. Nabil Al-Aoun, in a statement at the inauguration ceremony.
RIYADH, Oct 9 (KUNA) -- The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSRelief) Supervisor General Dr. Samer Al-Jelati announced that the center has successful treated 740,000 out of the 750,000 cholera-infected Yemenis.
The patients have recovered and the remaining 10,000 are receiving treatment now, Al-Jelati told reporters in a press conference held in Riyadh Monday about the center's activities in Yemen.
The Kuwaiti Al-Najat Charity held on Thursday tests for Syrian children to assess their intellectual and educational levels prior to registration in private schools.
These quizzes aim to help Syrian children who failed to get education over past years nerolled in private schools, said Dr. Abdulmohsen Al-Hwailah, the assistant undersecretary for private education at the Ministry of Education.
Dr. Al-Hwailah was speaking during a tour at the exam venues, schools of Al-Najat Charity, involving 1,250 male and female Syrian children.
