The leaders of Germany, Kuwait, Norway, the United Kingdom and the United Nations have today hosted the “Supporting Syria & the Region 2016” Conference in London, bringing together over 60 countries, international organisations, business, civil society, Syrians and people affected by the conflict to agree a comprehensive new approach on how we respond to this protracted crisis, building on the 2014 Berlin Conference and the three Kuwait Pledging Conferences.

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah announced today a donation of worth USD 34 mln to cover UNRWA needs for Gaza .
Kuwait signed with Lebanese Government a grant of $300 million on Tuesday, October 17, 2006 as part of an effort to help the government rebuild Beirut s southern suburbs and villages in the South destroyed during this summer s war with Israel.
His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah instructed the government to contributed with USD four million for the victims of the latest Indonesian earthquake, which caused upwards of 3,500 deaths in the Jawa area. "The donation was a gesture of solidarity of the Kwuaiti people with the friendly Indonesian people to help it deal with the series of earthquakes in the Jawa peninsula," a statement by the cabinet said.
A Kuwaiti military cargo plane arrived at Kirmanshah airport, Western Iran, Monday carrying the second shipment of relief aid to victims of the earthquake that hit Luristan province last Friday, an Iranian official said Monday. Mir Saeed Safi-Niya, assistant director of airports in Kirmanshah, told KUNA in a phone call that the aircraft was carrying 17 tons of humanitarian supplies. He explained that this plane was the second carrier to arrive at Kirmanshah airport today, part of an air corridor established between kuwait and Kirmanshah to airlift relief aid.
