The blockade on Taiz imposed by Houthis is preventing water and food to be transferred into the city. The humanitarian situation has worsened tremendously in the past month. Citizens in Taiz are forced to buy Al Kawthar drinking water from the black market with double and sometimes triple the price. People cannot afford mineral bottled water, and those who can afford them cannot find shops that sell them.

A second aid shipment carrying food and medical aid sent by the UAE Red Crescent arrived in Aden on Sunday. Yemeni officials said that the shipment weighed 460 tonnes and was delivered by sea through the port in Aden.

The UAE Red Crescent are currently distributing around 225 tonnes of food to those in need. The local designated aid coordinator said that the UAE Red Crescent had also delivered a shipment containing 1,200 tonnes of medicine and medical supplies to Aden last week.

The Saudi-led coalition warplanes targeted Nuqom Mountain in the capital, Sana’a after a 5 day truce. The strikes were followed by a series of huge explosions which caused great panic to the residents.

Najeeb Adel who lives in Al Zubairi said,” the raids did not stop since last night, the explosions are so intense it feels like an earthquake.” Residents said that the raids were extremely heavy and that warplanes were flying at a low altitude.

The new UN envoy to Yemen, Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed said that his visit to Yemen comes in support for the humanitarian team efforts that aim to ease the suffering of Yemeni people caught in the conflict.

Ahmed arrived in Sana’a on Tuesday few hours before the 5 day proposed cease-fire began.

The Saudi-led coalition continue to target the province of Saada, which is considered a stronghold and the home base of Houthi forces. The coalition announced through media platforms that Saada is considered a military target and dropped leaflets urging civilians to evacuate the province.

At least 80 people have been killed in the port of Aden in fierce clashes between Houthi militants and Popular Resistance in Al Tawahy district on Wednesday.

As the fighting intensified, Houthi militants shelled a boat and a gathering of civilians on the port as they were trying to flee Al Tawahy heading to Al Buraiqa, an area considered relatively safe. Rescue workers said that at least 40 people died, including women and children.

News over social media said that telephone lines and internet will be cut off on Monday morning at 9am, local time. “Our house turned into a call center, family inside and outside Yemen were calling, messaging, WhatsApping, Facebooking, we were saying our goodbyes, it was insane I think the entire country panicked, we didn’t think it was going to happen so soon,” said Al Ariqy.

30 people have been killed in the fierce ongoing clashes between the Houthis and Popular Resistance in Khor-Maksar area in Aden. Dead bodies lie on the streets, and 44 houses have been burnt in the area, locals said that Houthi militants prevented some of the neighbors from trying to put down the fire. “There are dead people outside our building, nobody is burying them, it’s very sad and scary, and the smell is just unbearable,” said an old lady living in one of the buildings in Khor Maksar.

The ban started yesterday after the Yemen's Ministry of Foreign Affairs delegated the coalition forces to implement it.

Sana'a, Sunday April 12—An air strike launched today morning by the Saudi-led coalition has hit Al-Dhahirah village in the Mawia district of Taiz, causing the death of at least eight civilians and the injuryof more than ten.

All casualties belonged to the Akhdam minority group, which is a marginalized community of African decent living in poor conditions in different parts of Yemen. The village is located precariously close to the 22nd Republican Guards Brigade, which was hit directly by another air strike by the coalition.

SANA’A, March 24—Calls for national peace talks to resume in the Qatari capital Doha were rejected by Houthi representatives on Tuesday, while militias and military units loyal to the group continue their push south towards Aden.

Muhammad Al-Bukhaiti, a spokesperson for the Houthi Political Office, said Qatar represents one of the group’s “worst enemies” and that the location for continued dialogue can only be decided by those participating in it.

SANA’A, March 25—Fighting between Marib tribesmen and Houthi militias backed by security forces in the Qania area of Marib governorate came to an end on Tuesday after the parties reached a ceasefire agreement.

Sheikh Mohammed Bohaibeh, a prominent member of the Murad tribe in Marib, said the agreement was reached following discussions between sheikhs Yasser Al-Awadhi and Hussein Hazib and Houthi representatives based in Marib and neighboring Al-Baida governorate.

SANA’A, March 17—Security forces in Taiz governorate detained 59 Ethiopian nationals attempting to enter Yemen illegally on Monday, days after another 53 were captured in Mocha district.

The migrants were found in areas between the districts of Mocha and Dubab, according to Anees Al-Shamiri, the manager of the security office in Mocha district. He said the group, 27 of whom were women, have been transferred to Taiz Central Prison pending deportation.
