At the ceremony held in Myitkyina City Hall, PRC Ambassador to Myanmar Mr. Hong Liang said that during the day’s trip the embassy is providing Ks 160 million worth of rice, cooking oil and materials such as blankets, Ks 12 million worth of medicine to displaced persons in the three townships of Sumprabum, Putao and Machanbaw. It is expected that this efforts could raise the socio-economic and health care situation of the people said the Ambassador.
The Red Cross Society of China donated US$ 100,000 to the Myanmar Red Cross Society for use in providing humanitarian aid to flood victims in Myanmar. The donation was made at the Myanmar Red Cross Society (Yangon) office on Strand Road at 3pm yesterday.
Reports of human trafficking are emerging from camps of internally displaced persons (IDPs), situated within KIA controlled territory along the Myanmar – China border, as some IDPs make the journey into China in search of employment to resolve their livelihood woes.
The IDPs, who fall victim to human traffickers, make the risky journey into China driven by a lack of food rations within their IDP camp; in order to put their children through education; and to accumulate money for potential medical expenses, it is known.
Handing over of (200,000) aluzinc sheets (length 2200 mm x width 920 mm x thickness 0.32 mm) donated by the People’s Government of Yunan Province for the flood affected areas in Myanmar took place on 3 December 2015 at Muse Township, Shan State. It was attended by U Soe Naing, Director, Relief and Resettlement Department, Shan State, and U Kyaw Kyaw Tun, District Administrator of Muse District and Chairman of District National Natural Disaster Management Body and officials concerned from the Myanmar side and Ms.
