Khartoum, 7 October 2017. The United Nations Country Team (UNCT) in Sudan congratulates the Republic of Sudan on the recent United States decision to revoke economic sanctions with respect to the country and its government under Executive Orders 13067 and 13412. The UNCT recognizes all the collective efforts exerted by all parties, especially the Government of Sudan who in the past nine months has demonstrated through concrete progress the country's interest in improving humanitarian access throughout the country.

Khartoum, 10 July 2017. The United Nations Country Team (UNCT) in Sudan acknowledges that there has been a marked improvement in humanitarian access over the past six months, since Executive Order 13761 was signed on 13 January 2017, as a result of improved engagement between the Government of Sudan and humanitarian actors.

(Khartoum, 03 March 2016): The Government of Japan has decided to contribute USD 2.1 million to the United Nations Mine Action Service (UNMAS) for humanitarian mine action work, in coordination with the Sudan National Mine Action Center, in the Republic of Sudan. These successes would not have been possible without strong cooperation between UN agencies, NGOs, IOM and IFRC and collaboration with the Government of Sudan. Donors contributions amounted to over US$ 600 million.

To meet these needs the United Nations (UN) and its partners are appealing for US$983 million to fund a total of 364 projects across thirteen sectors in 2013. Khartoum, 18 April 2010: Continued instability in parts of the Eastern Jebel Marra area of Sudan's Darfur region has resulted in aid agencies being unable to access certain areas where they have provided aid including food, water, and medicines during the past five years.
