Facts and figures about the humanitarian aid provided by the BRC

On the 10th of January 2014 a team of BRC provided with family food packages, washing, sanitary and hygiene materials, children`s pampers, adapted milk and food, nearly 300 refugees from the Center for Temporary Accommodation of State Agency for Refugees in the village of Kavachevci. The food packages consist of long–lasting products (unskimmed powdered milk, canned food, flour, sugar, oil, spaghetti, beans and lentils) .
On December 6, Ambassador Marcie B. Ries announced a Julia Taft Refugee Fund grant to the Bulgarian Red Cross (BRC) to support Bulgaria’s efforts to address the influx of asylum seekers.

During a visit of the President of the Republic of Bulgaria Rosen Plevneliev in the Slovak Republic, a humanitarian aid at the amount of 100 000 EURO was contracted for Bulgaria in reference to the refugee crisis in the country.
The funds were received in the account of the Bulgarian Red Cross.
Invited by the BRC President, Hristo Grigorov to an official visit of the BRC Headquarter, today the Member of Parliament and Ambassador of the Slovak Republic Marian Jakubocy arrived in Bulgaria.

Today, 21.11.2013 г., /Thursday/, at 13.00 o`clock teams of BRC are going to grant the refugees in the Center of temporary accommodation of State Agency for Refugees in “ Voenna Rampa” district with warm soup.
Tomorrow, 14 November 2013 (Thursday), around 11.30, BRC team will donate to 1 350 refugees from the Centre for temporary accommodation in Harmanli sanitary and hygiene materials, clothes, shoes, baby diapers, food and blankets.
The food packets consist of long-lasting products, donated by citizens who supported “From me to you” campaign of “Trud” newspaper.
By 31.10.2013 the funds received in the Bulgarian Red Cross bank account for refugee support are 71 032,99 BGN. The Bulgarian Red Cross has provided the following humanitarian aid to the refugees:

In relation to the daily increasing refugee flow to the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria and the need of adequate and timely medical care for refugees and population, the Bulgarian Red Cross donated a specially equipped ambulance to the needs of the hospital in the Municipality of Elhovo.
In front of the Headquarter of the Bulgarian Red Cross, the President of the organization Mr. Hristo Grigorov handed the keys of the ambulance to Mr. Vasil Marinov, the Deputy Minister of Interior - Head of the National Operational Headquarters.
