IARA-USA has recently delivered 10 tons of food to refugees from Darfur, Sudan. This is the first phase of our planned delivery of aid to help stem the growing humanitarian crisis in the troubled region. Our immediate goal is to provide a 15 day's ration of food and other necessities for each of 20,514 refugees in the Goz Amer camp in Ouadai, 18,336 refugees in the Touloum camp in Biltine, and 14,404 refugees in the Iridimi camp in Biltine. Each package will consist of cereal (400g/person/day), oil (20g/person/day), soap (200g/person/month), and mosquito nets (3 pieces/family).
Starting the first week of January 2004, IARA-USA provided earthquake assistance to victims in Iran by a physiotherapy center and handicap section in Kerman City and an orphanage center in Bam City. The physiotherapy center purchased equipment, such as an electronic massage mattress with pump pressure and small and large electronic stimulators.
