Pyongyang, November 19 (KCNA) -- Servicepersons and shock-brigade members from different parts of the DPRK are now working admirable feats in the project for improving rivers in the flood-hit northern part of the country.
In Musan County of North Hamgyong Province, a project was launched to improve rivers extending more than 10 kilometers.
The soldier-builders finished the embankment of the township within only two days.
Pyongyang, November 17 (KCNA) -- The project for building dikes against the Tuman River and streams came to a close in Hoeryong City, one of flood-hit areas in North Hamgyong Province, the DPRK.
Soldier-builders of the Korean People's Army finished the construction of dwelling houses in a short span of time and launched the project all at once.
Pyongyang, November 14 (KCNA) -- One-storied dwelling houses, three-storied and five-storied apartment houses for over 11 900 families, at least 3 000 units, were completed in more than one hundred areas including Hoeryong City, Musan, Yonsa, Onsong, Kyongwon and Kyonghung counties in North Hamgyong Province in a matter of more than 50 days. They were hit by the severest flood in the history of meteorological observation after the country's liberation.
Pyongyang, November 10 (KCNA) -- A big progress has been made in the embankment project and the restoration of roads in Yonsa and Musan counties, some of the flood-hit areas in the northern part of the DPRK.
In Yonsa County, servicepersons finished a project for improving the Yonmyon Stream and the embankment in 1 500 meter-long section, removing 60 000 cubic meters of earth only in ten days.
Pyongyang, October 30 (KCNA) -- Servicepersons of the DPRK have successfully built a new residential quarter in Musan County, one of the flood-hit areas in northern part of the country.
They completed the construction of more than 80 flats, ahead of all other housing construction units in the county.
At present, the construction of more than 10 public buildings, including school and kindergarten, is pushed ahead at the final stage in the quarter.
Pyongyang, October 26 (KCNA) -- Servicepersons of the DPRK are now speeding up the construction of houses and public buildings at the final stage in Hoeryong City, one of the flood-hit areas in North Hamgyong Province.
They had already finished the exterior plastering for more than 1 760 flats and 10-odd public buildings, including schools, kindergartens and nurseries.
They started painting their outside walls and covering the roofs with colored iron sheet all at once on October 24.
Pyongyang, October 19 (KCNA) -- The framework for houses has been completed in severely flood-hit Musan County, North Hamgyong Province of the DPRK.
Soldier-builders carried out the framework of dwelling houses far ahead of schedule by keeping the operation of building machines at full capacity, exploring inner reserves to the maximum and introducing advanced construction methods.
Pyongyang, October 17 (KCNA) -- A rapid progress has been made in the construction of public buildings in flood-hit North Hamgyong Province of the DPRK.
In Obong district of Hoeryong City, one of the flood-hit areas in the province, soldier-builders completed the framework for school with a total floor space of 6 000 square meters, kindergarten and clinic in a little over fifteen days after groundbreaking.
They are now speeding up the construction of public buildings with a goal to complete it by the end of this month. -0-
Pyongyang, September 30 (KCNA) -- A rapid progress is made in the construction of dwelling houses in Kyonghung County township, one of the flood-hit areas in North Hamgyong Province of the DPRK.
The interior and exterior plastering of new flats for 100 families was going at the final stage on September 28. The housing construction in the township started on Sept. 16, with mobilization of servicepersons.
The soldier-builders have set it a goal to finish the housing construction in this area by mid-October. -0-
Pyongyang, September 30 (KCNA) -- A work is progressing apace to reconstruct the flood-hit areas of North Hamgyong Province, the DPRK.
Up to now, devastated railways and roads, power grid and communications network have been restored in many sections to ensure the smooth advance of construction units into the disaster areas and the normal transport of building materials.
Pyongyang, September 28 (KCNA) -- Transport ships loading cement leave Nampho City for the flood-hit areas of North Hamgyong Province, the DPRK one after another.
The city conducted a 3 day-long campaign to finish packing and shipment of cement and sent the first ship some days ago, while directing big efforts to packing and shipping cement in close cooperation with relevant units.
Nampho Port also pays big attention to supplying fuel and accessories in time to put wharf cranes and other facilities in full operation.
Pyongyang, September 28 (KCNA) -- South Phyongan and North Hwanghae provinces of the DPRK are taking active part in rendering material assistance to the flood-hit areas of the country's North Hamgyong Province, in hearty response to the appealing call of the Workers' Party of Korea.
A campaign is going on to boost production at electric power, coal and cement production bases in South Phyongan Province. The province has sent to those areas a large amount of building materials, food grain, clothes and daily necessities.
Pyongyang, September 26 (KCNA) -- South Hamgyong Province of the DPRK has concentrated its efforts on the supply of relief materials and power to flood-hit North Hamgyong Province, adjacent to it.
The Puraesan Cement Factory in the province sent several hundred tons of cement to the disaster areas by launching a vigorous drive for increased production, while the Hamhung Steel Works showed higher results in the bar steel production every day.
This month, several power stations in the province has generated electricity 1.3 times higher than August.
Pyongyang, September 23 (KCNA) -- A progress has been made in the production of educational equipment and materials to be sent to flood-hit North Hamgyong Province in northern part of the DPRK.
According to Kim Song Il, department director of the Ministry of General Education, 206 000 textbooks and references of several hundred kinds and 10 000 experimental apparatuses and reagents were urgently transported to the disaster areas.
The recent stormy downpours left at least 50 schools and kindergartens in cities and counties of the province collapsed or largely damaged.
Pyongyang, September 8 (KCNA) -- The DPRK Red Cross Society launched an emergency relief campaign in the flood-hit areas of North Hamgyong Province.
According to an official concerned, its relief workers have conducted their energetic activities to heal flood damage and stabilize the inhabitants of flood-hit areas, in cooperation with members of the delegation of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.
Pyongyang, September 3 (KCNA) -- It rained heavily with strong wind in North Hamgyong Province and other parts of the DPRK from August 29 to September 2, affected by a combination of typhoon-10 and low pressure field formed in the northwest.
According to data available at the State Hydro-meteorological Administration, the rainfall reached 320 mm and 290 mm in Kyonghung and Puryong counties of North Hamgyong Province from 00:00 Monday to 12:00 Friday.
Pyongyang, June 22 (KCNA) -- From June 11 to 22, overall areas of North and South Hwanghae provinces in the DPRK witnessed much rain, with 95 mm in Haeju City and 99 mm in Samchon, 97 mm in Sinchon, 72 mm in Anak, 90 mm in Sinphyong, 80 mm in Unpha, 79 mm in Koksan and 77 mm in Suan counties.

Pyongyang, June 16 (KCNA) -- The worst drought in 100 years continues in the DPRK, causing great damage to its agricultural field.
According to data available, rice-transplanting has been finished in over 441,560 hectares of paddy fields across the country as of June 8, but at least 136,200 hectares of them are parching up.
The granaries including North and South Hwanghae provinces and South Phyongan and South Hamgyong provinces have been badly damaged.
Pyongyang, May 29 (KCNA) -- Pak Pong Ju, premier of the DPRK Cabinet, made a field survey of farming in South Phyongan Province.
The premier visited the Paekam Farm in Sukchon County, the Wonhwa Co-operative Farm in Phyongwon County and the Sangbukdong Co-operative Farm in Mundok County, encouraging officials and agricultural workers in accelerating immediate farm work by introducing a scientific farming method including the water-saving farming method despite a long spell of drought.
Pyongyang, December 23 (KCNA) -- The Russian government's free food aid of 50 000 tons to the DPRK was wound up with due ceremony at Nampho Port on Tuesday.
The food aid will contribute to developing the traditional relations of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
