TEHRAN, Dec. 8 (IRCS) _ During the past 48 hours, snow, blizzard, flood and inundation engulfed parts of Iran. Red Crescent offered relief services to over 3400 affected people.
Flood and inundation impacted Ilam, Khuzestan, Ghazvin, Kermanshah, Lorestan and Hamedan during Thursday and Friday, Decemeber 6 to 7. Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) rendered relief services to 1265 people.
TEHRAN, Dec. 2 (IRCS) _ Under-Secretary General of International Affairs and International Humanitarian Law of the Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) Davood Bagheri said the Society’s food and medicine supplies would be sent to Yemeni people through the United Nations (UN).

A 6.3 magnitude earthquake on the Richter scale occurred on Sunday, 25 November 2018 at 20:07 pm local time, in Kermanshah province, western part of Iran. The epicentre was in area located at 27 km from Gilan-e Gharb, 32 km from Sar Pol-e Zahab and 33 km from Qhasr-e Shirin, at a depth of 7 km.
TEHRAN, Nov. 25 (IRCS) _ Recent rainfalls in Iran triggered inundation and flood in several areas of the country. Iranian Red Crescent volunteers have offered relief to 307 affected people from November 22 to 25.
"Due to torrential rain and lack of visibility, a sedan with 2 or 4 passengers (according to the local witnesses) fell in the river of Roudbar-chireh, Fuman Conty, Gilan Privince, yesterday,” said Mehdi Valipour, managing director of Gilan provincial Red Crescent branch. “Red Crescent’s teams managed to find the vehicle without any of its passengers today.”
Kermanshah, Nov. 25 (IRCS) _ Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) has provided relief supplies to the people in quake-affected regions of Kermanshah.
A 6.4 magnitude quake hit Sare-Pule-Zahab, Kermanshah, at 20:07 (local time) on Sunday, November 25. The epicentre of the quake was registered at 34.38 degrees latitude and 45.7 degrees longitude, at a depth of 7 km.
According to Ali Asghar Peyvandi, IRCS President, Red Crescent has sent basic items, including blanket, mineral water and tent to the affected areas.
TEHRAN, Nov.7 (IRCS) _ Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS)'s volunteers responded to 1,117 people affected by flood and inundation in the provinces of West Azerbaijan, Ilam, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari, Bushehr, Khuzestan, Mazandaran, Fars, and Gilan, during the past 24 hours.
Moreover, 83 people were provided with emergency shelter during the same period. Water was also pumped out of 18 homes by IRCS relief workers.
ZAHEDAN, Nov. 5 (IRCS) _ Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) donated 18,000 stationery packages to the students of drought-affected province of Sistan and Baluchestan.
On Students Day (November 4) in Iran, during a visit to the southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan, head of the IRCS Youth Organization Dr. Shahaboddin Sabounchi and the organization’s pre-school and student deputy Saeed Babaie donated stationery packages to the students in Zahedan and Saravan counties.
TEHRAN, Oct. 29 (IRCS) _ Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) has provided relief services to over 1,000 affected people during a new wave of rainstorms showering half of the provinces, triggering floods.
During the past 4 days (from October 26), provinces of Lorestan, Mazandaran, Gilan, Golestan, Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad, Kermanshah, Kerman, Sistan and Baluchestan, Khuzestan, North Khorasan, Khorasan-e Razavi, Ilam, Ardebil, East Azarbaijan, and West Azarbaijan were affected by heavy rainfalls.
TEHRAN, Oct. 21 (IRCS) _ Prof. Ali Asghar Peyvandi, President of the Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS), and Mr. Peter Maurer, President of International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), met in Tehran on October 21, to discuss collaborations between the organizations, especially in international humanitarian activities.
ILAM, Oct. 22 (IRCS) _ Due to last night’s storm and heavy rain which triggered flood, Red Crescent distributed nearly 4,000 blankets and ground sheets in the border terminal of Mehran City, Ilam Province, among the pilgrims who are travelling to Iraq for Arbaeen Pilgrimage.
Underlining distribution of 3,500 blankets and 400 ground sheets among the flood-affected pilgrims, Hossein Arefi, managing director of Ilam provincial Red Crescent branch, said: “All of the relief workers are in alert, and they are ready to offer relief to people and pilgrims.”
KAZERUN, Oct. 20 (IRCS) _ Red Crescent offered relief to 240 flood-affected people in Kazerun County in the southwestern province of Fars.
“Kazerun County is affected by inundation and flooding. Red Crescent has offered services to 4 villages, including 240 people,” said Deputy Head of the IRCS Relief and Rescue Organization Shahin Fathi
Moreover, relief workers pumped water out of 14 homes by 3 pump motors.
During this operation, Fars provincial Red Crescent branch deployed 5 operational teams, including 20 relief workers.
TEHRAN, Oct. 6 (IRCS) _ Red Crescent offered relief to over 6,000 flood victims during the past 4 days in 6 provinces of Gilan, Mazandaran, Golestan, North Khorasan, Isfahan, and Yazd.
“6990 people were offered relief by the Red Crescent, 143 people transferred to safe places, and 327 were given emergency shelters in either Red Crescent bases or mosques.” said Morteza Salimi, head of the Iranian Red Crescent Society’s Relief and Rescue Organization.
Red Crescent relief workers also transferred 12 injured to medical centers, 9 received outpatient treatment services.

ZAHEDAN, Sept. 7 (IRCS)_ An earthquake that shook Iranshahr County, Iran's southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan, on Friday morning killed one and injured two people. Relief services were provided by Red Crescent to the affected areas.
A magnitude 5.6 quake shook Rigan County of Iran's southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan at 10:53 a.m. local time on September 7. The quake happened at the 10-kilometer depth of the ground surface. It cracked the walls of several rural houses. The quake was felt in the neighboring province of Kerman.
