The cost of the restoration of the roads damaged by the recent floods is estimated at over 103 million dollars, Minister of Equipment, Transport and Logistics, Aziz Rebbah said on Tuesday.

Speaking at a Lower House session on the floods’ impact on infrastructure, Rebbah said that the road network in the flood-stricken areas is of 62,000 kilometers, of which 19,000 kilometers are untarred, as well as 7500 bridges including 505 that have been completely submerged by water.

Rabat, Nov. 30, 2014 - HM King Mohammed VI has given His High Instructions to the Interior Ministry to supply isolated villages with food following the recent floods and snowfalls, the Interior Ministry said.

This supply of basic foodstuffs concerns 250 isolated villages, the ministry said in a statement.

In implementation of the High Royal Instructions, the Interior Ministry will distribute, in coordination with Gendarmerie Royale, without delay the foodstuffs to the affected population, the statement added.

Al Mafraq (Jordan) – A total of 371,562 Syrian refugees have benefited, until July 10, 2014, from services at the Moroccan medical-surgical field hospital set up at the Zaatari camp, in Al Mafraq region north-eastern Jordan.

Infants and children top the beneficiaries (159,060), followed by women (113,182) and men (99,320), according to figures released Friday by the said hospital.

Laayoune - A Sahrawi family left the polisario-run Tindouf camps (south-western Algeria) to settle definitively in Laayoune, following the latest UNHCR-led family exchange visit between the camps and the Kingdom's southern provinces, the Sahara.

The family, made up of the mother Salka Idda Benomar, 49, her 18-year-old daughter Fatima Abderahmane and 7-year-old son Mohamed Yahdih Abderhamane, arrived in Laayoune on Friday within the framework of the 19th family visit flights in 2011.

This visit exchange benefited 52 people, of whom 21 are from Tindouf camps.

A plane carrying 12 tonnes of humanitarian aid took off on Wednesday morning from Kenitra (40km north of Rabat).
