WSSCC is pleased to launch the Strategic Plan that will guide the organization over the next four years. The plan is the result of consultations involving more than 1,000 partners, stakeholders and members around the world, and at 16 dedicated national consultation meetings.

Un mayor acceso a estos y mejores servicios permiten alcanzar niveles más altos de rendimiento escolar así como incrementar la productividad económica. Sin embargo, sigue habiendo demasiadas personas que no cuentan con estos derechos humanos básicos. Después de 2015, debemos mejorar esta situación.

Poor sanitation is an issue that can affect everyone but women are often the most at risk. As a woman who grew up in a country with sanitation challenges, I was acutely aware of the issues faced by people growing up in rural and evolving urban environments where the infrastructure provided many challenges. I have great empathy with the far-reaching impact this can have on all aspects of a woman’s life from childhood through to motherhood and beyond.

Kumi District, Uganda, 16 March 2012 - The Water Supply and Sanitation Collaborative Council (WSSCC) today allocated US$6 million from its Global Sanitation Fund to help more people in Uganda attain safe sanitation and practice good hygiene.

Today at Nyero Sub County’s primary school, located in eastern Uganda, village leaders welcomed Ministers of State, community members and neighbours from surrounding Kumi District for the launch of the Uganda Sanitation Fund.
