Key achievements toward Strategic Objectives
In 2015, the response of the humanitarian community in Pakistan focused on people displaced from and returning to the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA). Nutrition programmes targeting malnourishment were also implemented across the country.
Key achievements include:
An average of 1.40 million IDPs (86 per cent of people in need) received food on a monthly basis.
360,000 people were provided with access to water for drinking, cooking and maintaining personal hygiene.
1. Projects description
Due to its geophysical and geopolitical situation, Pakistan is prone to frequent natural and man-made disasters and crises that continuously engage the humanitarian and relief agencies. Along with other donors support, Pakistan is therefore one of the major recipients of the CERF. The following five CERF projects have been implemented by FAO since 2006 in the country (Table 1).
