Le département de Tassara est situé dans la région de Tahoua et fait frontière, au nord-ouest par l’Algérie et à l’ouest par le Mali. Il est peuplé majoritairement par la communauté arabe. Il fait face à un environnement sécuritaire très préoccupant depuis l’éclatement des conflits armés dans le nord du Mali. Cette situation a conduit le gouvernement nigérien à prolonger l’état d’urgence déclaré en mars 2012 dans ce département très affecté par l’insécurité.

1/ Analyse des données de sécurité alimentaire et des moyens d’existence

Suite à l’inondation survenue dans la commune de Fallou, 45.83% des ménages victimes des inondations déclarent être en situation d’insécurité alimentaire contre 29.17% des ménages qui sont à risque d’insécurité alimentaire pour les semaines à venir. A contrario, 25% des ménages ayant été affectés par les inondations soutiennent avoir un score de consommation alimentaire acceptable.

The mission took place from 25 to 29 September and aimed at assessing the priority needs of recently arrived IDPs in the two regions.

The findings show that an estimate of 54.000 IDPs are currently displaced in the Littoral Region while 32.000 IDPs have sought refuge in the West Region. Priority needs in both regions are the following:

IOM Bangladesh Needs and Population Monitoring (NPM) regularly and systematically captures and disseminates information regarding the movements and evolving needs of populations on the move, whether on site or en route. NPM’s site assessment rounds capture the numbers, locations and key sectoral needs of Rohingya refugees in the areas affected by the influx since 25 August 2017. Data are collected through key informant interviews and direct observation. The unit of data collection depends on the context.

1. Executive Summary

With the state receiving 758.6 mm rainfall between 1st August and 19th August, 164% more than the average of 287.6 mm, Kerala faced unprecedented flooding. Kerala received 42% more rains than usual since the onset of the Monsoon in June. By midAugust, there had been 2346.3 mm of rainfall instead of an average of 1649.55 mm. The highest rainfall was in Idukki district, which received 92% more rains. This was followed by Palakkad, which received 72% more rains.

On 28 September 2018, a magnitude 7.5 earthquake had it’s epicenter in Indonesia’s Central Sulawesi province triggering a tsunami with waves upto 3 metres high and landslides that resulted in widespread damage and loss of lives. The earthquake occured less than two months after a series of earthquake in Indonesia’s Lombok island.

1. Background

Gbudue State of South Sudan consists of Yambio and Nzara counties. The State shares border with Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and Central Africa Republic with links to DRC through trade and returnees from DRC who constitute a risk for EVD importation. Although the security situation in the state is reportedly improving, intensifying preparedness activities is vital including state level advocacy to the lower level such as chiefs, community and religious leaders.
