The Chronic Food Insecurity of Nepal is analyzed for 13 sub regions in December, 2014. As Nepal has 15 sub-regions, unavailability of sufficient data for all 15 sub-regions and similarity in socio-economic and geographical conditions of three sub-regions made possible to combine three sub regions (West, Mid-West and Far-west Mountain) into one sub-region i.e. Western Mountain resulting 13 sub-regions for Analysis. It should be noted that two districts in Western mountain i.e. Manang and Mustang are found to be better off due to income from tourism.

This report presents the results of an independent, three-year evaluation of a pilot project intended to improve access to and the quality of lower secondary education in Ethiopia through the use of resultsbased aid (RBA), an innovative approach to development. RBA is an aid partnership between a donor and a recipient government in which the disbursement of aid is tied to results achieved rather than activities completed or outputs produced. The amount of aid provided is directly related to the magnitude of the outcomes achieved.

Data was collected using smart phones between September and October 2015, at the end of the “lean season” when the rains are heavy and frequent, roads become inaccessible (limiting people’s ability to access markets) and food stocks become depleted.

In Rakhine, community ponds are one the major water sources in the rural areas. The communities rely on these water sources throughout the dry season. Although the pond water cannot provide safe drinking water, these community ponds are often the only available water reachable with local technology for villages where there is complex ground water access.
During floods, many ponds become filled with contaminated surface water, debris, deposits and animal bodies.
