To continue to build the capacities of teachers, and in specific efforts to promote girls' education, the Community Girls Special Project (CGSP) was given a boost when an education expert from the Bangladesh Rural Advancement Committee (BRAC) conducted a teacher training in Nyal. 15 participants attended this training, which is aimed at ensuring quality education for girls.

The Inter Tropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) is centrally placed towards the North-Northeast. Areas in proximity of the ITCZ will continue to experience relatively higher rainfall while those further away will experience sporadic or localized rainfall. However, even with only localized rainfall, planting need not be delayed any further as the rainfall received so far is adequate to support germination.

carried out under the Multi-Country Demobilization and Reintegration Program
(MDRP) since the time of the previous quarterly progress report (July to

the MDRP, namely: (i) national demobilization and reintegration programs;

I. National Programs

A 60,000 MT contribution from the USA and a donation of 9,700 MT from ECHO has been confirmed but the commodities and arrival dates are not yet known. With these two contributions the pipeline for the coming six months looks slightly better than previously feared.
