EU High Representative Federica Mogherini on Monday pledged together with the leaders of France, Germany, Italy and Spain to further support and deepen joint actions and partnerships to meet the challenges of migration and asylum.

Building upon the Migration Data Catalogue, the Dynamic Data Hub is a web-based application that gives through interactive mapping direct access to single datasets.

As such, the hub helps to communicate knowledge to the public at large. Furthermore, it allows the Commission to undertake analyses in order to enhance awareness and deepen understanding of migration flows to Europe, related trends and impacts.

The European Union and Spain made a new contribution to the Palestinian Authority's (PA) payment of social allowances to Palestinian families living in poverty in the West Bank and Gaza. Around 111,500 poor Palestinian families will receive social allowances through the PA's Cash Transfer Programme (CTP). This contribution of €21 million is equivalent to more than two-third of the budget for this payment. Out of this amount, the EU provided €20 million and Spain €1 million.

The European Agenda on Migration adopted by the Commission in May 2015 set out the need for a comprehensive approach to migration management. Since then, a number of measures have been introduced – including the adoption of two emergency schemes to relocate 160,000 people in clear need of international protection from the Member States most affected to other EU Member States, and the endorsement of the Commission Action Plan on Return.

A new batch of urgently needed medical and relief supplies is leaving to the Ebola-affected region in West Africa today on board of the Dutch ship "Karel Doorman".

For the second time, as part of the coordinated European response to the Ebola outbreak, the Netherlands has offered to transport vital supplies free of charge. The vessel is carrying 1,500 tons of food for the World Food Programme (WFP) in addition to more than 50 vehicles, medical supplies and protective clothing for health personnel offered by Belgium, France, Germany and the UK.
