Kathmandu, September 6:
The National Reconstruction Authority (NRA) has decided to mobilize the local governments to speed up the post-earthquake reconstruction of private houses and other physical infrastructures destroyed by the April 2015 earthquake.
The NRA Steering Committee meeting held today decided to give the responsibility of monitoring and recommending for government grant assistance to the local governments.

Life expectancy has been steadily increasing and Nepal’s progress in reducing maternal and child deaths has been lauded internationally, even though the maternal mortality remains the highest in the South-East Asia Region. There are notable achievements in reducing prevalence of HIV and TB and Nepal is on track to be malaria-free by 2025.
