Kathmandu -A 3-day simulation exercise, being organized by the UN Migration Agency with Dept. of Urban Development and Building Construction (DUDBC) under the Ministry of Urban Development (MoUD), Nepal Police and Armed Police Force, and Nepal Army to provide the National Security Forces with hands-on experience in emergency response and management of camps for internally displaced people (IDPs), has kicked off today in Kathmandu.
In August 2018, retail prices of most food commodities monitored in 15 major markets across Nepal were relatively stable (or had only marginally decreased) due to sufficient availability from domestic production and imports.
The overall inflation rate in July 2018 was 4.6 percent. The food and beverage group was stable at 3.9 percent, although several food sub-groups were relatively higher: vegetables (18.0 percent), milk and milk products (7.2 percent) and cereal grains (5.1 percent).

The Chief Executive Officer of the National Reconstruction Authority (NRA), Sushil Gyewali, said today that the NRA would take initiatives at the national and international level to manage resources to meet the financial requirement to complete the post-earthquake reconstruction.

The National Reconstruction Authority (NRA) has decided to mobilize the local governments to speed up the post-earthquake reconstruction of private houses and other physical infrastructures destroyed by the April 2015 earthquake.
The NRA Steering Committee meeting held today decided to give the responsibility of monitoring and recommending for government grant assistance to the local governments.
