Survey Methodology and Demographics

To carry out the Flood Perception Survey, 30 trained enumerators are deployed throughout the ten most heavily flood affected districts to collect data over the course of 10 days from a total of 1800 respondents using a probability proportionate to size (PPS) methodology. All data collection is completed with mobile tablets using KoBo Toolbox.

Following an outbreak of violence on 25 August 2017 in Rakhine State, Myanmar, a new massive influx of Rohingya refugees to Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh started in late August 2017. Most of the Rohingya refugees settled in Ukhia and Teknaf Upazilas of Cox’s Bazar, a district bordering Myanmar identified as the main entry areas for border crossings.

IOM Bangladesh Needs and Population Monitoring (NPM) is part of the IOM’s global Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) programming. DTM is IOM’s information management system to track and monitor population displacement during crises.
Composed of several tools and processes, DTM regularly captures and analyzes multilayered data and disseminates information products that us help better understand the evolving needs of the displaced population, whether on site or en route.

Since the beginning of November 2017, the eastern side of Hama governorate, which is under the control of the opposition forces, has been witnessing an escalation of military actions by the Syrian regime forces. The regime has increased the volume of the shelling, as its advancing has led to the flight of most of the civilians from these sub-districts towards the southern countryside of Idleb. The number of IDPs from Al-Saa’n, Elhamra, Oqeirbat, and Suran sub-districts reached 72,760 IDPs.

Eastern Ukraine has been in a humanitarian crisis since March 2014, when armed conflict erupted between separatists and Ukrainian armed forces. Separatists now control most of eastern Donetsk region, and a small area of southern Luhansk region.

  • La production nationale de riz (paddy) est estimée à un peu plus de 3,1 millions de tonnes en 2017, soit 20 pour cent de moins qu’en 2016 et 19 pour cent de moins que la moyenne des trois précédentes années (2013-2015).

  • Ce recul de la production est principalement dû à un démarrage tardif de la saison des pluies et à une sécheresse sévère qui a tout particulièrement touché les principales régions productrices de riz du nord, du centre et de l’est en milieu de campagne.

Assessment Finding and Recommendation in brief:

On 19/10/2017, UNOCHA shared a list of 267 conflict induced IDP families in Ghazni city and requested joint need assessment. From 30/10/2017 to 2/11/2017, above mentioned organizations conducted joint need assessment and identified 88 IDP families who are displaced over course of last five months as result of worsening security in their places of origin. Remaining reported IDP families identified either protracted IDPs, split members of one family, located in insecure areas or not found/relocated.

Assessment Findings and Recommendations in brief:

Following a notification received by the DORR, SI ERM team organized a Household (HEAT) assessment jointly with DORR. The notification was issued on March 15-April -17 and listed 84 households. Following the HEAT assessment, 17 households were identified as being eligible, the rest were rejected by the joint assessment team.

Reasons for non-eligibility included displacements that had occurred more than 6 months ago and some the IDPs HHs are came for business purposes and registered with DoRR as IDPs .
