Executive course in Geneva - Mastering Fundraising Practices

In the current challenging context of shrinking funding opportunities and a high number of competitors struggling for resources, only state-of-the-art funding initiatives can successfully fund development, social impacts and humanitarian programmes. The design and execution of such initiatives require a deep and comprehensive understanding of donors’ expectations, a set of technical skills in strategic planning, and the execution of a fundraising strategy.

This course will provide key expertise to design a project-based fundraising strategy tailored to your needs and aligned with donors’ increasingly demanding and strict requirements.

Objectives

  • Understand and use essential project management tools such as the Project Management Cycle (PCM), Results-Based Management (RBM), the Theory of change (ToC), and the Logical Framework (LF) to structure, design and inform a fundraising campaign
  • Create a project-based fundraising strategy and action plan, and know how to implement fundraising activities efficiently
  • Develop strong project proposals to fund projects in line with donors’ expectations
  • Know what are the expectations of donors and key stakeholders, and design the engagement, reporting and communication strategies accordingly

Essentials of project and fundraising

  • Master the crucial relationship between the Project Management Cycle, Results-Based Management, the Theory of Change and Logical Framework, and a successful fundraising strategy
  • Understand donors’ expectations in the context of project management and fundraising

Module 2

Unleashing your project-based fundraising strategy

  • Design, plan, execute and evaluate a project-based fundraising strategy in the current context of shrinking opportunities and resources
  • Implement, follow-up and evaluate the fundraising strategy and its results
  • Learn how to leverage AI and the power of ChatGPT to enhance your fundraising approach

Module 3

Donor engagement & impact reporting

  • Learn how to build lasting partnerships with donors and understand how to meaningfully engage with them
  • Gain knowledge on reporting achievements to ensure long-lasting partnerships
  • Learn how to connect the theory of change with the evaluation framework
