The Power of Fiction & Connecting to Humanitarian Crisis: Discussing Exit West

Wednesday February 15th at 10am EST / 3pm GMT we are hosting a live-streamed panel on Zoom with the Author of Exit West, Mohsin Hamid; Author of Bright Unbearable Reality: Essays, Anna Badkhen and humanitarian from United Nations OCHA, Ruth Mukwana.

Over the past month, our community on Discord has been reading Exit West, by Mohsin Hamid - an astonishingly visionary love story that imagines the forces that drive ordinary people from their homes into the uncertain embrace of new lands. This powerful novel follows the two lives of people from who's lives are upended by conflict and who are forced to flee to seek refuge in other countries. It explores key humantiarian themes associated with people caught in conflict and who are forced to flee, which we'll be discussing in depth during the livestream.

At the Humanitarian Book Club we read, connect and act together
