It is essential for humanitarian project managers to understand how to identify, create, forge, manage and sustain partnerships. This two-day workshop provides a deep dive into what makes for successful partnerships.
The training will take participants through a full partnership programme cycle. It enables participants to understand the importance of, and undertake, contextual assessment and analysis, selecting and designing appropriate agreements and specifically looks at capacity strengthening and partnership accountability.
The course also provides an overview of key policies and commitments, including the Principles of Partnership and the Localisation commitments made in the Grand Bargain. Participants will be encouraged to analyze these commitments, and the opportunities and challenges that exist as they relate to current humanitarian practice. In addition, we’ll seek to understand Remote Management partnerships, a practice that is being used more and more as conflict decreases direct humanitarian access, meaning we have to look for new forms of partnerships to provide aid. Bringing contemporary issues to the course, we will look specifically at Remote Management practice in Syria
You will also have the chance to put your experience to use, and to learn from the expertise of your fellow course colleagues.
