The Core Humanitarian Standard on Quality and Accountability (CHS) is THE reference when it comes to describing the essential elements of principled, accountable and quality humanitarian action. It was designed as a measurable and verifiable standard, in order for organisations to be able to assess their strengths and weaknesses against the Nine CHS commitments. To help facilitate this process, the CHS Alliance has put together a self-assessment tool, which describes how to collect information, document evidence, present results, and obtain a solid basis to develop an improvement plan as well as directing capacity development efforts and resources.
The webinar will present the experience, lessons learned and recommendations of representatives of CHS Alliance member organisations who completed the CHS self-assessment. By attending the discussion, you will learn tips on how to prepare for the process, how to overcome some of the common challenges and hear what benefits the exercise can deliver. You will also have the space to ask your own questions.
The webinar will take place on Tuesday 6 June at 10:00 UTC, 12:00 CEST.
Speakers will include:
- Mags Bird, Strategy Advisor for Mission East
- Uwe Corus, Monitoring, Evaluation and Accountability Coordinator for Care International
- Robert Sweatman, Head of Performance and Accountability at the British Red Cross and Board member of the CHS Alliance.
- Adrien Muratet, Programme Officer and
- David Loquercio, Head of Policy, Advocacy and Learning who are both supporting the self-assessment process
The webinar will be facilitated by Geneviève Cyvoct, Senior Quality and Accountability Officer at the CHS Alliance. The event will be recorded and will be made available on the CHS Alliance website.
