Cambodia: Floods - Aug 1994

Central provinces have been hit by floods, making some 12,000 people homeless. (UN DHA, 5 Aug 1994)

Approximately 5,800 families received assistance in the areas of Battambang, Takeo, Kompong Cham, Kandal, Kompong Speu, and Phnom Penh municipality. Priority emergency procurement included 3,000 shelters to replace those made available by UNHCR for this relief assistance operation and 3,000 shelter sheets as a preparedness measure in view of concern about a possible recurrence of flooding.
