Sri Lanka: Floods and Landslides - Feb 1986

Disaster description

Heavy rains in many parts of the country in early January caused floods in eastern and landslides in central provinces. The UNDRO resident representative transmitted the following government figures given on 12/2/86: 43 deaths, 12,897 families affected, 3,030 houses completely destroyed, and 19,250 houses partially damaged.
