Disaster description

Typhoon Dot (Saling) hit southern and central Luzon on 18 and 19 October 1985. The most heavily-affected provinces were Aurora, Nueva Ecija, Tarlac and Bur Lacan. (UN DHA, 22 Oct 1985)

The most recent data provided by the UNDRO resident representative is as follows: 81 dead (corrected figure), 24 injured, 242,023 families affected, and 1,183,602 persons affected. 52,933 houses were destroyed and 200,450 were damaged. (UN DHA, 19 Nov 1985)
